Sunday Riley: Luna Night Oil

Hey,

I'll admit it, I have a skincare problem. I just love all things skincare! I love talking about it, experimenting with it,  learning about it, skin just fascinates me so much. Maybe I should have gone down the beauty therapy route and learnt how to do facials for a living, I could've been the next Dr. Pimple Popper! Anyway, I digress...

I want to talk about one of my favourite products by one of my favourite brands, Sunday Riley Luna Night Oil. Most people have either heard about this or tried it before but if you haven't then I'm here to spread the love.

I've been using this product for about 5 months now and every morning after I use it, I'm always impressed with how my skin looks and feels. I use it every other night after double cleansing.

Here's what Sunday Riley say about it:

PRODUCT DETAILS: A next-generation retinol oil that boosts the look and feel of skin plumpness, while improving the appearance of wrinkles, redness, and pores for visibly younger-looking skin.

FORMULATED FOR: Balanced ☼ Oily ☼ Combination ☼ Dry/Dehydrated ☼ Sensitive Skin

HOW IT WORKS: Luna works throughout the night to deliver visibly youthful, luminous, even-toned skin in the morning. Trans-retinoic acid ester complex reduces the appearance of pores and wrinkles, while visibly improving the signs of premature ageing: fine lines, uneven texture, age spots, dryness, and dullness. Balanced with blue tansy and German chamomile essential oils, both rich in soothing, blue azulene, visible redness and the signs of sensitivity are neutralised, for a calm, even-toned complexion.

Cruelty-Free, Sulcate-Free  Paraben-Free, Gluten-Free, Soy-Free, Phthalate-Free, Fragrance-Free, Vegan

So it's basically like a nice introduction to retinol, the best anti-ageing ingredient. Because it's an ester rather than actual retinol, it's a smaller molecule so it's absorbed by the skin a lot easier. It's also not as harsh on more sensitive skin. They've balanced out the ingredients really well so that it's nourishing for the skin, moisturising without being greasy. It's only to be used at night because of how retinol works, it can cause the skin to be sensitive to natural light so if you do decide to try it then you'll also need to make sure your daily moisturiser has a decent SPF in there. It's in a dark glass bottle because natural light can damage the product, so I'd advise keeping the bottle in the box or away from any light.
I got my one in Selfridges but it's not exclusive to them, it's available on pretty much every beauty website. Let me know if you try it!
